Personal Trainer

National fitness day

An obvious one of course, however we believe it is worth understanding the relevance of why we have put it in our list despite it’s familarity with most of us. As a PT you will most likely need to be hired by a gym where you will represent their brand, as part of the team. It is therefore important to decide whether your vision falls in line with the company’s vision, so that you can progress together and so that you feel like you have something meaningful to contribute. In layman’s terms, find a gym you feel at home with.

Freelance (self employed) Personal Trainer

employment

You will most likely explore freelancing after some time working in gym where you will have gained enough experience and establishment that you feel comfortable finding your own clientele outside a gym company’s support. But for those of you looking to jump right in, you will need to spread the word of your PT service and most importantly take advantage of digital marketing. Almost everyone is online on some form of social media, you will find most of your clients on social media platforms, for high effectiveness, be on all of them for business purposes.

General Manager

Every gym needs a Gym Manager (front of house), to keep all gym related responsibilities in check and by having a PT qualification it may help with your c.v showing you are already embedded in the relative field but also showing your knowledge and interest in the members needs from a training perspective.

Duty Manager

A Duty Manager is of high importance to gyms and fitness clubs, they generally look after security and customer support but also are responsible for the gym’s members and their safety and wellbeing. Having a PT qualification will aid in your relationship with the members and the gym environment.

Health & Wellness Coach

A health and wellness coach typically guides clients through dietary changes and provided information about health and diseases to their clients to help assess any current/underlying health conditions which may raise concern. A health and wellness coach focuses on the improvement of diet and physical health, so depending on your interests this may be an ideal path to go down if you more interested in the psychology rather than the physicality of helping others through the avenue of fitness.
