Why become a Personal Trainer? Isn’t it obvious, it’s amazing! Being a Personal Trainer comes with so many perks, from making others happy, to bettering your own health as a byproduct of improving others. Although the hours can be long at times, the benefits are far more rewarding. Plus your body and mind will improve along the way in your journey to become a great Personal Trainer (P.T), but first let’s look at some of perks of being one:

You can choose your clientele

Although the first stages of being a P.T can be tough and at times it may feel like you are facing an uphill battle, you will eventually reach a stable point in your career where you can be more selective about who you take on based on your experience, knowledge and preference. This ability to select your clientele will aid in your personal growth because you will surrounded yourself with people who are like-minded and/or possess some of the key traits you are looking for when it comes to training people.

If you love training people, you will also share the achievement

If training others is something that excites you, if it is something that exhillerates you or makes you work harder, then personal training is clearly a profitable career option. But the benefits don’t stop there, when your clients reach their goal, the feeling can be inspiring and will in turn be a motivating factor for both yourself and your clients, enjoy the ride you and client are both on, because at the end the reward is to be shared.

It’s a stable career

In an ever changing world, with the rise of the digital era and introduction of technology, some industries are facing massive redundancy layoffs, and in other industries the threat of technology replacing the need for human staff is very real. However, personal trainers are an exception to this. Although there are many fitness apps, these apps are only benefiting personal trainers. As for the apps/programs which claim to offer a “virtual personal trainer”, there are many cons to the service, for example it does not offer the same intimacy as a personal trainer. This means that correction in form or technique will not be as interactive or specific as with a real personal trainer. Also, an app cannot provide the same level of direct motivation as a personal trainer, which is sometimes the real reason a people ask for P.T.

Always growing

The industry is always growing, especially with growth of digital marketing such as Instagram and facebook etc. One can always be found online if not in person, plus it is easier to reach a wider variety of audience with these platforms allowing you to broaden your scope as a trainer. Almost everyone is online so take advantage of it. Also, more and more fitness products are constantly being released, which can be helpful to personal trainers who are looking to mix up training for their clients. Moreover, training systems are also ever changing, with new theories and ideas being released and experimented constantly, being a personal trainer is like surfing across rough waters, but if you catch the right wave it can be quite the ride!

Your knowledge of fitness will increase

As your experience increases, so will your knowledge as they both work synonymously with each other. The more you train yourself and train others, the more you will learn about what works and what doesn’t. This is the way you will be able to identify more appropriate training approaches for specific individuals. To be clear, the only way this will happen is through your growth as a personal trainer where you are faced with a huge range of fitness goals and obstacles. Your job is to learn how to overcome them and store the solution to use again in the future.
