“Good things come to those who wait, but only things left by those who hustle.”

– Abraham Lincoln

For the most of you, the biggest act impeding your success, is your inability to start. You procrastinate away a lot of valuable time in starting what you need to do, time you do not have an abundance of. Your dreams of success in whatever avenue it is, requires an initial kick to get the ball moving, but you haven’t done that yet, instead you’ve decided to click this post and start reading it, even by you reading this post, attempting to acrue more knowledge and expand your creative mind, you are missing the point. You haven’t started. You should have already started, 1 minute before you clicked this post. But seeing as you are here now, Focus Fitness UK would like to reveal for you, 4 key traps to avoid when attempting to start something important.

1. Stop doing things which do not contribute to the now

Cut out television. Now. Cancel your membership NETFLIX, SKY, NOW TV, whatever it is, stop. It has actively stopped you from doing what you should be doing and deterred you from the path you should be embarking on. Television will hugely consume your time, take value in your time, it is yours and only you are the one spending it. But are you even spending it right, becasue television will easily drain your fuel, and give nothing worthy back in return, “but it is good to wind down sometimes..” No. Just no. Watching television is not winding down, its spending your time on something that deteriorate your work ethic and damage your creative mindset. Cut it out. Entirely. You don’t even have time like that to be throwing away so loosely.

2. Sleep right

Another thing that is certain, you are either oversleeping or you are under sleeping. Both of which you do not need to be doing, nor can you afford to do. Regulate your sleeping pattern and everything else in your life will follow a productive pattern, they say we sleep 25 years of our lives on average. Are you spending that time right or are you not even aware of the time you are spending sleeping each night, have control of the systematic aspects in your life for full control of the steering wheel? You should find the optimal amount of sleep your body and mind needs to optimize all the other aspects of you daily life effectively. Stop messing with your sleeping pattern, be consistent with it. This is an imperative.

3. Clear your desk

Declutter. A messy surrounding will ultimately result in a cluttered mindset, your workspace is your territory, it is under your rule and ownership, why would you do that to your land? There is much truth in the saying a clear desk is a clear mind. By actively cleaning your surrounding, the path of your work will present clarity and structure. But by allowing your desk to clutter and become messy, you’ll tax your mental stability.

4. Be early not punctual

start

Don’t be late, don’t even be on time, just be early. Arrive 5-10 minutes earlier, start 5-10 minutes earlier, be ahead of the curb and pursue prior to the set time. If you are on time, you are already late. By arriving on time, you have proven that you haven’t considered possible obstacles or delays in your journey, and thus are not mentally ahead of eevrything else. Strong time management is key to mental clarity which is imperative to starting. Punctuality will increase the productivity of everything that follows. Take active appreciation for your time, don’t be foolish with it, you are only cheating yourself. In the end it was entirely your choice. How will you spend it?

FYI, you still haven’t started.
