National Fitness Day this year takes place on 27th September as part of National Fitness Week being run by UK Active; the UK’s largest physical activity celebration. Regular physical activity is great for everyone’s health, and wellbeing, and people of all ages and body types can be physically active. National Fitness Week is a great time to spread the word about the benefits of exercise. We can use this week to raise awareness about the benefits of physical activity — and spread the word about fun ways to get moving!

  • The Stapedius muscle is the smallest musle in the body, barely measuring ONE millimeter long. The muscle protects the ear from intense vibrations.

 

  • To lose just TWO pounds of fat, a person has to burn approximately 7,000 calories!
