Carrying on from Part 1, we will now dive into the final part of the guide which is just as important as the previous but is commonly misunderstood, the training. Almost everyone begins fitness with training in mind as their first driving factor but do not spend enough time understanding what they themselves mean when they say training, here we breakdown how to find the perfect form of training to suit your goals and how to be successful in your chosen avenue.
TRAINING

Fitness has grown immensely, from Yoga to Gym and Zumba to Running, whatever it may be, find what you love and flourish in it, the idea is to fall in love with it like a passion and not a chore, this then helps to create consistency in your training and health. Once you’ve found a training niche you enjoy, ease it gently into your cycle and then slowly start adding more of it as you become more accustomed to the change, this way you will avoid losing interest/consistency in your training because you haven’t overwhelmed yourself, remember “Activate, not annihilate”.
Moreover, understand being fit does not necessarily mean one will look fit and vice versa, this is the case because each training model serves a different purpose and the look of the body will be based on how it is used to help complement its function. For example, a powerlifter will be significantly stronger than bodybuilder because their training models serve different purposes and thus their bodies will be in different shapes to compliment that, the goal of a powerlifter is to shift as much weight in as minimal time as possible therefore their physiques are heavy build but their muscle is low because there is little hypertrophy work and their fat intake isn’t restricted. A bodybuilder however works on developing as much lean body mass as possible, therefore their physiques will look more toned an defined because they are working in a higher rep range and in a short range of motion (which is optimal for muscle hypertrophy), however their strength will be less than that of a powerlifter.
To summarise, you must first have a clear vision of what you wish to achieve in regards to fitness or better yet what you want fitness to do for you. Have a hard think about it, then you will be attaching meaning to your fitness journey, which is far more effective. After this, you must look into your current diet and make amendments to it to suit your goals and lifestyle, avoid being overly restrictive but if you desire goals more than anything, do whatever it takes to get you there. Lastly, find a training style you will enjoy and stick to, one of the hardest obstacles you will face is loss of interest and motivation, this can happen because you are not enjoying the training model you are following, if this does happen, review these steps again and adjust accordingly.
